Remote Part Time Employee Relations SpecialistJob DescriptionThis role involves assisting and advising management on employee relations, performance management, culture building, and team effectiveness issues. Responsibilities include conducting investigations, mediating conflicts, and managing disciplinary actions. The specialist should have a strong understanding of business law in relation to human resources and be able to apply this knowledge effectively. Supporting and educating employees and management on the Leave of Absence process, partnering with vendors for smooth transitions, and collaborating with the Office of the CEO on internal employee engagement activities are key parts of this role.

ResponsibilitiesAssist and advise management on employee relations, performance management, culture building, and team effectiveness issues. Conduct investigations, mediate conflicts, and manage disciplinary actions. Understand and apply business law in relation to human resources. Support and educate employees and management on the Leave of Absence process. Collaborate with the Office of the CEO on internal employee engagement activities. Advise managers on engagement tactics, budget utilization, and activities throughout the year. Distribute and action plan on employee survey data. Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees regarding standard policies, benefits, and hiring processes.

Refer complex questions to HR staff or management. Advise managers on labor relations topics as needed. Support ADA accommodation requests. Advise HR Generalist on urgent HR questions and support requests when VP of HR is unavailable.

Essential Skills3-5 years experience in employee relations Knowledge of human resources, employee relations, labor relations, and employment law Experience with ADP systems Understanding of Maryland State Law Strong customer service skills Additional Skills & Qualifications5+ years of experience in Employee Relations Experience with Maryland State Law ADP experience preferable Union experience is a plus Work EnvironmentThis position is a contract role lasting 4-6 weeks to support the HR team in Baltimore, MD. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with 20-30 hours per week. The role is open to fully remote work, providing flexibility and convenience.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36. 00 - $45. 00/hr.
