Position SummaryAxiom Space is seeking a high-agency, high-EQ operator to serve as Chief of Staff to the CEO. This role is not for the faint of heart-it's a front-row seat to the most ambitious commercial space venture on Earth, with the opportunity to influence and accelerate our work across space stations, spacesuits, and sovereign human spaceflight missions.
The Chief of Staff will function as a force multiplier, strategic proxy, and operational backbone to the CEO, ensuring priorities are executed with precision and pace. We're looking for someone who's operated under pressure, earned scar tissue, and thrives in chaos. Space-specific experience is not required, but passion for the mission is. Prior start-up experience is highly preferred. Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesCEO Proxy: Represent the CEO in internal and external meetings, drives the CEO's vision, and ensure communication and execution flows smoothly across the company. Drive Execution:
Push key strategic projects forward-especially cross-functional initiatives that don't neatly fall into one organization's swim lane. Organizational Alignment: Own the operating cadence (exec meetings, offsites, QBRs) and ensure the CEO's priorities cascade and stick. Unblock the CEO: Handle tasks that distract from the CEO's highest leverage work-triage decisions, resolve ambiguity, follow up relentlessly. Communications: Draft high-impact materials including board decks, investor updates, external speeches, and internal memos. Issue Spotting: Surface critical decisions early, help identify blind spots, and work with leadership to clear roadblocks fast. Confidentiality & Discretion: Navigate sensitive and strategic matters with integrity and trust.
