This hybrid remote position offers flexibility while supporting the critical procurement functions within our healthcare system. About The RoleThe Supply Chain Buyer is responsible for procuring products, supplies, and services to meet the needs of assigned departments.
This role plays a key part in enhancing supply chain operations, improving efficiencies, and ensuring timely delivery of essential items. Working collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors, the Supply Chain Buyer is a vital link in supporting healthcare excellence across Covenant Health. ProcurementKey Responsibilities: Process purchase orders and review requisitions for accuracy and contract compliance. Analyze pricing and sourcing through GPO tools and benchmarking. Research vendor and distributor contracts to determine the best purchase sources. Communicate with vendors and internal teams to resolve backorders, delivery issues, or discrepancies. Vendor & Stakeholder RelationsBuild strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Maintain a professional, impartial approach with all vendors. Assist departments with requisition procedures and purchasing education. AdministrativeCoordinate with accounts payable and receiving to resolve invoicing and packing slip discrepancies. Ensure timely setup of new vendors including documentation (e. g. , W9s). Support value analysis processes and participate in related committee meetings. InventoryTrack and prioritize open orders and backorders to maintain adequate supply. Document and implement approved substitutions as needed. SkillsWhat We're Looking For: Excellent written and verbal communication Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Effective project management and time prioritization Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Excel, Outlook, etc.
) Problem-solving and analytical capabilities Ability to work independently and collaboratively Education & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED required 3โ5 years of healthcare or supply chain purchasing experience preferred Equivalent combinations of experience and education will be considered.
