OverviewGovCIO is currently hiring a talented and experienced Database Administrator to focus on designing, implementing, and optimizing SQL server and database solutions to support Veterans Affairs operational needs. This position leads database architecture, resolves advanced issues, and drives performance enhancements. This position will be fully remote located within the United States. ResponsibilitiesDesigns and implements database structures that fit with current and future needs of the organization. Manages database security by setting up user roles and permissions. Creates backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability. Monitors database performance and optimizes database structures for faster data access.
Troubleshoots and resolves database issues and errors. QualificationsRequired Skills and Experience : Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or a related field with 12 years of relevant experience. (or commensurate experience) Strong knowledge of relational database theory and SQL. Experience in developing and maintaining low-code automation tools (such as SharePoint, PowerBI, Jira/Confluence, and others). Expertise in designing and optimizing data structures for storage, retrieval, and analysis. Ability to write efficient and optimized SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data. Demonstrated experience managing SQL/Oracle or other data management systems.
  Demonstrated experience configuring/integrating platform or application API’s Proven ability to quickly learn, adapt, and effectively apply new tools and technologies. Strong problem-solving skills, with a self-motivated and customer-focused approach. Excellent communication skills, capable of working directly with stakeholders and team members. Ability to handle projects independently, from requirement gathering to solution delivery. Facilitate API design decisions in consideration with: On-premises or cloud-based infrastructure Datasets requirements Security protocols need to be implemented Functionalities based on the architectural style(s) or pattern(s) to be employed Preferred Skills And ExperienceFamiliarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
Certifications in relevant technologies (e. g. , Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate).
