The Head of Editorial is responsible for leading and managing the editorial team to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality, engaging content across the company's marketing channels. This includes developing & integrating the Zappos brand messaging calendar into daily marketing, as well as strategizing and executing the org's key content initiatives (Tier 1 campaigns). The Head of Editorial will work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, creative & buying to align content with the overall business and brand strategy.

Key job responsibilitiesDevelop and implement the editorial vision, strategy, and content roadmap to support the company's broader business objectivesOwn the strategy, briefing & execution of Zappos' Tier 1 campaign initiativesLead, manage, and mentor a team of writers to ensure efficient, effective content productionDevelop & maintain a brand voice & copy best practices guideOversee the editorial review and approval process to maintain brand voice, quality standards, and editorial integrityCollaborate with marketing, buying, and other teams to ensure content aligns with user/customer needs and business goalsMonitor content performance metrics and leverage data-driven insights to continuously optimize the editorial strategyStay up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities for content innovationRepresent the editorial function and serve as a subject matter expertBasic Qualifications8+ years working in a digital retail or media organizationBachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English, or a related field; advanced degree preferredPreferred QualificationsProven track record of building, managing, and developing high-performing editorial teamsExcellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a strong command of grammar, style, and toneProficient in data analysis and using metrics to inform content strategy and decision-makingStrategic mindset with the ability to translate business objectives into compelling editorial experiencesDemonstrated cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholdersStrong project management and organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple prioritiesAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.

The base pay for this position ranges from $102,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $178,100/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
