The Executive Assistant I is a full-time position which provides high-level administrative and operational support to the Director of Forensics and his team. This role ensures efficient daily operations, manages sensitive communications, and facilitates coordination across forensic units. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, discreet, and thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. This position requires limited travel and may be base in either Tallahassee or Orlando. Duties & ResponsibilitiesSpecific duties include:

Handling assignments and material of a highly confidential matter; Scheduling and coordinating all appointments and meetings, including travel plans, for the Forensic Services Director and local staff, correlating these appointments with necessary key staff personnel and obtaining the required information needed for backup. Researching and preparing reports and correspondence as directed for the Forensic Services Director; Receiving and reviewing incoming and outgoing communications, including email, phone calls and written correspondence to and from the Forensic Services Director. Taking necessary action on all communication to ensure it is processed or responded to in a timely manner.

Ensures certain documentation is properly filed for easy retrieval.

Ensures security of items of a confidential or sensitive nature; Planning, initiating, and coordinating a variety of administrative activities to ensure that Division’s policies, procedures, and functions are thoroughly adhered to according to the standards set by the Director; Assisting the Director in researching materials, preparing various reports, drafting correspondence, and the preparation of materials in connection with presentations to and for the Commissioner, and various Commissions and Policy Boards; Completing independent and directed special projects, coordinating the development of special projects as assigned by IFS Forensics staff; and Attending meetings and / or conferences as required and preparing documentation or minutes of the meetings or conferences.

Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge of general office procedures and practices; Knowledge of Forensic Services FDLE provides; Ability to record, collect, evaluates, and analyzes data; Ability to organize files, records and/or other materials; Ability to sort data alphabetically, numerically, and categorically; Ability to operate personal computers and other office equipment; and Ability to read and interpret law enforcement data. Base Salary$41,561.
