OverviewThe Billing Charge Entry Specialist III supports & promotes charge entry demographic processes, including troubleshooting mismatched records, validating proper registration through escalation processes, or completing specialty registration, manual document extraction, and reconciliation with the goal of ensuring accurate billing and preventing revenue leakage. At this time, US Anesthesia Partners does not hire candidates residing in California, Hawaii, or Alaska. Job HighlightsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include But Not Limited To)Support core demographic production teams through escalations and clarifications. Troubleshoot cases, as required, to determine best course of action, including further escalation.
Review escalated charge tickets to ensure accuracy of detail attached and proper registration. When necessary, manual extract and attach required documents from external billing systems. Outreach to facilities, as required, to obtain necessary information to properly bill cases. Perform reconciliation against cases in various statuses to mitigate revenue loss. Monitor encounter reporting and various queues to ensure all cases are properly billed. Perform audits on tickets, tracking and reporting of trends, or other projects as assigned. Maintains strictest confidentiality. Performs other duties as assigned. QualificationsKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSAs): High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Prefer billing/coding experience in a healthcare organization. Minimum of three years of experience in a healthcare business office. Ability to meet minimum production and quality requirements once initial training is complete. Skill in keyboarding/data entry. Knowledge of organization policies, procedures and systems. Skill in computer applications including MS Word, MS Excel. Skill in verbal and written communication. Skill in gathering, organizing, and reporting information. Ability to work effectively with staff, physicians and external customers. Must have a pleasant disposition and be a team player. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Communicate well with the public.
Ability to read, write, and speak English. Physical RequirementsRequires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching Must possess sufficient eye-hand coordination/manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment Required normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports and evaluations. Requires lifting papers and boxes weighing up to 35 pounds occasionally Requires dexterity to type at least 35 wpm.
