The Medical Services Coordinator is responsible for serving as a point of contact to coordinate medical care, providing support to patients and psychiatric clinicians, ensuring quality customer service to in-person and remote patients and clinicians.
Duties include creating a positive work environment, supporting in-office clinician and staff engagement activities, providing strong customer service, communicating with peers, clinicians, and patients, assisting psychiatric clinicians with patient care aspects such as prior authorizations, lab orders, letters, records requests, coordination of patient forms, facilitating communication between patients, medical staff and pharmacies, managing phone systems for patient support, ensuring accuracy of patient pharmacy information, scanning correspondence into EHR, assisting patients with telehealth access and troubleshooting, handling urgent requests and triaging patient issues, assisting in coordination of external referrals, providing general clinician support, coordinating with clinicians on patient questions, and aiding in patient termination processes.
Required skills include multitasking, prioritization, independent and team work, strong communication, proficiency in computer software and EMRs, and handling sensitive information (HIPAA). Education required is high school or equivalent with preferred associates/bachelor’s degree and 1+ years experience in healthcare operations or customer service preferred.
