This dedication has positioned us among the global leaders in the femtosecond laser market. We are seeking a motivated Laser application engineer to join our laser application laboratory. In this role, you will work with femtosecond laser systems to develop and optimize laser-based micromachining processes for a wide range of materials and applications.
You will collaborate closely with customers, sales team, R&D to deliver proof-of-concept demonstrations, feasibility studies, and technical support, helping adoption of ultrafast laser technology across a wide range of different industries such as medical, luxury, automotive, aerospace, microelectronics, semiconductors, precision manufacturing and others. In this role, you will have possibility for: Design, perform, and analyze laser micromachining experiments using femtosecond lasers (cutting, drilling, surface structuring, dicing etc.
) Collaborate with customers or other involved parties to define application requirements and propose tailored solutions Operate and maintain high-precision motion systems (galvo scanners, translation stages), optical setups, and beam delivery components Prepare application reports, documentation, and process recommendations based on test results Interface with sales and product development teams to provide technical support, feedback, and training Contribute to new application development, feasibility studies, and joint projects with customers or research partners Attend conferences and trade shows and stay up to date with advancements in laser micromachining technologies and materials science Provide hands-on support at customer sites for troubleshooting and optimizing laser micromachining processes Available for business travel up to 5–6 months per year Take a virtual tour of Light Conversion and step inside our advanced manufacturing process!Our team is looking for someone who has:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, or related field Hands-on experience with ultrafast lasers on micromachining applications Strong understanding of laser-material interactions, micromachining processes, and optics Practical experience with motion systems (stages, scanners) and alignment of optical setups.
