Job Description
We’re looking for a Line 1 Risk & Compliance Manager to join our team and help embed effective risk management and compliance practices across Heartland’s Auto business unit.Is this your next role?You’ll champion a strong risk culture and ensure operational, and compliance risks are proactively identified, assessed, and managed. You’ll work closely with business leaders to implement frameworks, monitor controls, and support regulatory compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesLead Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) and ensure alignment with bank-wide frameworksTest the design and operating effectiveness of controlsManage Risk-In-Change processes for new initiatives and systemsManage incidents, issues, and complaints end-to-end, including root cause analysis and remediationContribute to reporting for senior leadership and the Executive Risk CommitteeDeliver targeted risk and compliance training and foster a proactive risk cultureIdentify opportunities for continuous improvement across risk and compliance practicesDoes this sound like you?You’re a confident, detail-oriented professional with a strong risk mindset and the ability to influence behaviours across the business.You’re a Pro WithProven experience in operational risk and/or compliance within banking or financial servicesSolid understanding of key regulatory obligationsExperience with RCSAs, control testing, and incident managementExposure to executive-level reporting and governanceA bachelor’s degree in business or a related field (preferred)Strong communication skills and resilience in fast-paced environmentsA Bit About Us And What We DoHeartland is an NZX/ASX-listed financial services group with big growth plans.
