Position SummaryTake the lead as subject matter expert on essential duties of a Loan Processing Specialist I and II; guide projects within scope of department; coach and work with the team to identify and implement process efficiencies; deliver internal support to other business lines and the branches via phone and email.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in related field preferred.Minimum four (4) years of experience in loan processing; established experience with banking software and working in financial services.Accomplished reading, verbal and written communication, mathematical, computer and interpersonal relations skills; competently explain and relay complicated information; solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office; sound and verifiable analytical, problem solving, independent judgment and decision making skills; high level of organization and attention to detail; effectively multi-task and work within compressed time frames while meeting deadlines; assist in organizational safety and soundness initiatives.Essential DutiesProvide subject matter expertise on maintenance requests including, but not limited to, new loan input for commercial, consumer and mortgage; complex multi-level, participation, investor loans and guidance line account structures; track missing or pending items for consumer and mortgage loans; file vehicle lien information using electronic lien filing systems; input loan denial and withdrawn application data; identify and resolve customer inquiries and issues in a timely manner seeking assistance from supervisor when appropriate; interact with various business lines to successfully achieve shared customer servicing goals; electronically image, index and maintain loan documentation using computer systems, scanning devices or other office equipment.Interpret attorney prepared documentation to completely and accurately board the loan; conduct activities related to the completion of the legal documentation to perfect the Bank’s security interest and lien position of collateral for all loan types including mortgages, Uniform Commercial Code-1 forms (UCC-1s), life insurance policies, Certificate of Deposits (CDs), stocks and other applicable documents.Understand tax reporting guidelines relating to functions of loan operations; conduct activities related to data entry of reportable information including mortgage interest, points and mortgage insurance premiums; use company systems to review loans for compliance and perform loan level data on each loan while meeting production and quality standards; take the lead in completing and coordinating special lending-related projects, system testing and conversions.Communicate proficiently with lenders to answer questions, explain guidelines and resolve customer impacting loan discrepancies; resolve escalated customer experience incidents while demonstrating outstanding customer service levels; organize and present training materials on policy and procedure updates for team meetings.Identify patterns or connections between situations that are not obviously related and identify key or underlying issues in complex situations; gather additional data and improve one’s understanding about situations or issues then take independent action to create opportunities to resolve or prevent problems.Maintain reasonable knowledge of Real Estate Sales Practices Act (RESPA), Regulation Z, Flood Insurance, Regulation O, Customer Identification Program/Customer Due Diligence (CIP/CDD), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), higher-priced mortgage loan (HPML), Home Ownership and Equity Protection Act (HOEPA) and other regulatory guidance related to loan operations functions; solid working knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act and comply with the requirements; maintain strong understanding of state and federal laws and regulations relating to lending as well as the Bank’s lending policies and procedures.Coordinate specific work tasks with personnel from applicable departments to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information; report pertinent information to immediate supervisor; compile information as necessary or directed and provide data to appropriate Bank personnel; respond to inquiries relating to the particular area and requests from customers, other Bank personnel, etc., within given time frames and established policy.Attend regularly scheduled coaching and counseling sessions held by supervisor to achieve the outcome of improved communication, action plan development, positive feedback and performance improvement.Abide by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment that is free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place; support risk management practices and overall safety and soundness and the Bank’s compliance with all regulatory requirements.
