Linguist for Educational Test Adaptation (Korean)About UsWe are working with the University of Pennsylvania to adapt a cutting-edge cognitive assessment for the Korean education market. The assessment is widely respected and used internationally, and we are now taking the next step to ensure that the language, analogies, and cultural references make sense for Korean students.Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled linguist / language and culture specialist with experience in test adaptation, psychometrics, or educational content localization. The role will focus on adapting sections of the Mindprint test into Korean so that the items are both linguistically accurate and culturally relevant. This is not just direct translation — it involves re-norming analogies, word associations, and phrasing so that Korean students can interpret them fairly and naturally.Responsibilities • Translate and culturally adapt test items (with focus on analogies, verbal reasoning, and other language-sensitive sections). • Work closely with our team to ensure the adapted content maintains test validity and reliability. • Provide expert feedback on Korean linguistic and cultural appropriateness. • Collaborate on pilot testing and review feedback from Korean students and educators.Qualifications • Native or near-native proficiency in Korean, with advanced English skills. • Background in linguistics, applied linguistics, psychometrics, educational testing, or related fields. • Experience with test translation/adaptation, educational publishing, or assessment localization preferred. • Strong understanding of cultural nuance in language usage. • Attention to detail and ability to balance linguistic accuracy with educational fairness.Preferred • Experience working with standardized tests or educational assessments. • Familiarity with cognitive testing or analogical reasoning tasks. • Graduate degree in linguistics, language education, psychology, or related field.Details • Contract position (project-based, with potential for future collaboration). • Remote work possible; based in Korea preferred. • Competitive compensation based on experience.Please send your CV/resume, a short cover letter, and (if available) examples of prior translation/adaptation work in education.
