Logistics Manager in Rotterdam area - chemical manufacturingAs the Logistics Manager you will lead and optimize logistics and procurement operations across Europe and Marine activities. This role is pivotal in enhancing client's competitive edge by delivering operational excellence, cost efficiency and compliance across all logistics modes.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end logistics operations across truck, rail, barge, air, and marine transport.Manage external warehouses, terminals, and transload facilities.Oversee global marine logistics and drive tenders, contract transitions, and supplier onboarding.Develop standardized logistics processes and performance metrics (ISO-certified).Ensure safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.Act as liaison between Logistics, Business, Operations, Customer Service, Finance, and Supply Chain.Lead sourcing strategy, tendering, and contract negotiations for freight forwarding, air transport, terminals, and warehouse services.Build strategic partnerships with logistics suppliers and monitor market trends.Manage EU customs licenses and procedures (AEO, Excise, etc.) and serve as primary contact for customs authorities.Deliver monthly logistics performance reports and insights; represent logistics in SIOP/S&OE meetings.Conduct strategic reviews to identify efficiency and innovation opportunities.Qualifications10+ years managing multi-modal logistics operations; chemical/manufacturing industry experience preferred.Strong background in supply chain and logistics management.Proven success in negotiation, analytics, and financial management.Experience leading change and influencing across matrixed organizations.Minimum 5 years of SAP and logistics systems experience.Minimum 5 years of marine bidding experience.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Knowledge of hazardous materials shipping and regulatory compliance.Fluent in Dutch and excellent English proficiency is required.Ready for your next career move?Don’t wait - apply now or reach out directly at: aleksandra.kubis@trsstaffing.com
