Role Description The Logistics Specialist plays a key role in managing and optimizing the flow of goods, materials, and information throughout the supply chain. This position is responsible for coordinating logistics operations, ensuring timely delivery, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting efficient warehouse and distribution activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and service quality.Key responsibilities include planning and coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring that transportation and logistics processes comply with company standards and regulatory requirements. The Logistics Specialist will work closely with suppliers, freight carriers, and internal teams to schedule shipments, resolve delivery issues, and maintain strong communication across all parties involved. They will also analyze logistics performance metrics to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement.In addition to day-to-day coordination, the Logistics Specialist may support procurement and warehouse operations, prepare shipping and customs documentation, and ensure compliance with international trade regulations. They will assist in developing and implementing logistics strategies, supporting system updates, and maintaining accurate records in ERP or logistics management systems. The role also involves managing relationships with logistics providers, negotiating transportation rates, and ensuring adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs).The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and committed to continuous improvement. This position offers valuable experience in supply chain and logistics management, providing a strong foundation for career growth in operations, procurement, or global logistics leadership.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.Strong understanding of logistics operations, transportation, and inventory management.Proficiency in logistics software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).Knowledge of import/export procedures, shipping documentation, and customs regulations.Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to optimize processes and reduce operational costs.Effective communication and interpersonal skills for coordination with vendors, carriers, and internal teams.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or transportation management systems (TMS) is an advantage.Familiarity with lean logistics, continuous improvement methodologies, or ISO standards is beneficial.
