This role defies the "no-code" label. We are hiring a developer who knows how to leverage platforms like Softr to build 80% of an application rapidly, and then has the technical chops to custom-code the other 20% to make it truly powerful, unique, and robust.You will be our go-to expert for building and scaling custom web applications, internal tools, and client portals. You’ll be responsible for the full development lifecycle, from architecting the backend data structure in platforms like Airtable or SmartSuite to writing custom JavaScript on the frontend in Softr to create dynamic experiences that push the platform beyond its out-of-the-box capabilities.If you are a creative problem-solver who loves to build, optimize, and finds platform limitations a challenge rather than a roadblock, this role is for you.What You'll DoDesign, build, and maintain sophisticated web applications using Softr.Architect and manage complex data structures and relational databases in backends like Airtable, Coda, or SmartSuite.Write and implement custom JavaScript (JS), HTML, and CSS within Softr to create bespoke user interactions, dynamic content, and unique functionalities.Integrate third-party services and APIs (e.g., Stripe, Google Analytics, CRM systems) using custom code, webhooks, and automation platforms (like Make/Zapier/N8N).Translate business requirements and UI/UX designs into functional, high-performance applications.Troubleshoot complex issues related to data flow, user authentication, and application logic.Collaborate with our team to define project scope, features, and technical architecture.Stay on top of platform updates (Softr, Airtable, etc.) and identify new opportunities to improve our applications.Who You Are (Qualifications)Must-Haves:Strong Programming Fundamentals: You are a developer first. You have solid proficiency in:JavaScript (ES6+): You can write vanilla JS from scratch to manipulate the DOM, fetch data, and handle events.HTML5 & CSS3: You can write clean, semantic HTML and custom CSS to achieve pixel-perfect, responsive designs.Deep Platform Expertise: You have proven, hands-on experience building complex projects with:Softr: You understand its architecture, data binding, and, most importantly, its custom code blocks.Airtable, Coda, or SmartSuite: You are a master of data modeling, complex formulas, automations, and API usage in at least one of these.API & Integration Experience: You are comfortable working with REST APIs, JSON, and connecting disparate systems.A Problem-Solver's Mindset: You don't just follow a tutorial. You see a business problem and can architect a robust solution using the tools available, bending them to your will when necessary.Nice-to-Haves:Experience with middleware/automation platforms (e.g., Make, Zapier, N8N).Familiarity with other advanced low-code platforms (e.g., Webflow, Bubble).Knowledge of SQL or other database query languages.Experience with version control (e.g., Git).Why Join Us?Impact: You won't be a small cog in a big machine.
