We are a team of over 70 product experts who work with our clients as Product Partners, supporting them proactively throughout the journey from idea to launching a product and scaling it up.Job summaryWe are looking for a contractor Mid-level Android Developer in order to expand our team in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. As part of the Mobile department you will be responsible with developing, and providing maintenance for software solutions that run on Android devices.Main activitiesImplement responsive applications using Kotlin (and Java in rare cases).Build application user interface using Compose UI and XML using Android Studio.Create optimal user experience scenarios by adhering to Android’s design guidelines.Integrate third party or native libraries, such as: Android Jetpack, Gradle, Coroutines, Retrofit, OkHttp, Room, Firebase, Hilt, Koin, Unit Testing, UI Testing, Compose UI Previews, etc.Write code that takes into account the lifecycle of Android applications and efficiently manages the device's resources (CPU, GPU, RAM, Storage).Integrate cloud hosted solutions using REST APIs and/or WebSockets.Debug applications (by identifying crashes and bugs) and optimize projects (memory, speed, latency) by using debugging and profiling tools.Publish apps on native or third party distribution solutions (Play Store, Firebase, etc.).Build CI/CD pipelines for Bitbucket / GitHub.Create and maintain signing keystores and other keys that are required in the app development and distribution processes.Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development processes.Participate in department meetings (bi-weeklies, workshops) and project meetings (dailies, sprint plannings, demos).Use Unix command line tools (adb, fastboot) on macOS.SkillsKotlin / JavaCompose UI / XMLADB / Git / curl / Postman / Swagger➕ Flutter knowledge is a plus – or willingness to learn itQualificationsA bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.Proficiency in programming languages such as Kotlin / Java, with relevant experience using Compose UI or/and XML UI.2 years+Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as in a team.Ability to adapt to new challenges and learn quickly.Who we are:This is us – a growing and dynamic company and we can’t wait to meet you!Our main clients and partners are funded startups and international brands from the United States and Europe.
