As a key member of our kitchen leadership, you will play a crucial role in creating exceptional desserts and pastries while maintaining our high standards of quality and presentation. Assist the Executive Pastry Chef in overseeing daily pastry kitchen operations and staff managementCollaborate with the culinary team to develop innovative dessert menus and specials, incorporating local and international flavorsEnsure consistent quality and presentation across all pastry and dessert itemsTrain and mentor pastry kitchen staff, assigning specific duties and providing guidance as neededMonitor and maintain proper food storage, handling, and safety standards in the pastry sectionWork closely with the Executive Chef to manage food costs and minimize waste in the pastry departmentParticipate in inventory management and ordering of pastry supplies and ingredientsConduct regular quality checks on pastry items to ensure they meet our high standardsContribute to menu planning and recipe development, with a focus on creating unique dessert experiencesAdapt recipes and techniques to incorporate local ingredients and cater to regional preferencesStep in for the Executive Pastry Chef when necessaryQualificationsMinimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume kitchenStrong technical knowledge of classic and modern pastry techniquesExpertise in various pastry and dessert preparation methods, including baking, sugar work, and chocolate craftingKnowledge of Middle Eastern pastries and desserts, with the ability to incorporate local flavors into international recipesIn-depth understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standardsDemonstrated creativity in dessert menu planning and food presentationStrong leadership and team management skillsAbility to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environmentExcellent organizational and time management skills
