MacGregor – Let's shape the future togetherWe are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Trade Compliance Officer to enhance and develop our global trade compliance program. This role is crucial to ensuring our company adheres to all international trade laws and regulations, minimizing risk, and promoting ethical and responsible business practices. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of export controls and trade sanctions. This is a role within a lean Ethics & Compliance team, requiring a high degree of self-driven initiative, accountability, and collaboration within the team.
More Tasks And ResponsibilitiesConduct regular risk reviews to identify and address compliance vulnerabilitiesStay abreast of evolving trade regulations and adapt the compliance program as neededMaintain and develop our automated trade sanctions screening systemInitiate, develop, and deliver engaging trade compliance training to employeesAdvise and support on export control activities, such as product/technology classification and license management, ensuring adherence to applicable regulations like EAR, EU Dual-Use, EU Military ListGuide and advise on the establishment and maintenance of secure environments for handling controlled items, including physical security, access controls, and record-keepingServe as the subject matter expert on trade compliance, providing timely, clear, and actionable guidance and support to internal stakeholdersIf needed liaise effectively with government agencies and external advisors on trade compliance matters Reporting directly to the Head of Ethics & Compliance.
The position will be based in one of MacGregor's offices in Helsinki, Turku, Hamburg, Gdansk, Gothenburg or Sofia. What You’ll Need To SucceedThe ideal candidate for this role has strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality. We are looking for a person who has excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work independently as a self-starter and as part of a team.
Ideally you haveUniversity degree in law, engineering, international business, or a related fieldPreferably minimum of 3 years of experience, or otherwise demonstrated sufficient experience in a trade compliance roleSolid knowledge of international trade laws and regulations, including US and EU export controls and sanctions, and preferably customs regulationsExperience with best practices for handling controlled items is a plusFluent in written and spoken EnglishWhy MacGregor?Our people are behind every success.
