Maintenance Fitter – Food ManufacturingLocation: DandenongSalary: $50-$65 an hour on permanenet + Super + OvertimeA leading food manufacturing company in Dandenong is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a full-time, stable role with day, afternoon, or night shifts available.Offering $50 – $65 per hour, this position can start as temp-to-perm or potentially permanent for the right candidate.The Role This hands-on position involves preventative and reactive (breakdown) maintenance, fault finding, and continuous improvement across a range of production and packaging equipment. You’ll play a key role in keeping the plant running efficiently and safely.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform preventative and breakdown maintenance on production equipmentDiagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical faultsWork with pneumatic and hydraulic systems, conveyors, pumps, and valvesSupport process improvement and equipment reliability projectsEnsure compliance with GMP, HACCP, and OHS standardsProvide technical support to production teams to minimise downtimeAccurately record maintenance work – MEX CMMS experience highly regardedAbout YouTrade qualified Maintenance Fitter (Cert III Mechanical or equivalent)Minimum 4 years’ experience in a food or FMCG manufacturing environmentStrong experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, breakdowns, and preventative maintenanceFamiliarity with MEX or similar CMMS systems (advantageous)Hands-on, reliable, and proactive with a strong safety mindsetExcellent communication and teamwork skillsWelding or fabrication experience a plusForklift licence preferred but not essential
