Rotating 12hour shifts -7d ays/7 nights in a four-week rotation2 weekends per monthStarting rate of $2,811 gross per week, including penalties and overtime + other allowances as applicableThe Role Our Ridge street site services many customers in a contract manufacturing capacity focused on packaged, natural and processed cheeses. These include the renown Bega cheese blocks- mild, tasty, and vintage, shredded and cubed cheese, natural slices, parmesan, colby, mozzarella and burger slice cheeses and an exciting new Lactose and Dairy Free range. We're seeking a proactive and reliable Mechanical Technician to help keep our production equipment running at peak performance. This is a hands-on role where your expertise will directly impact safety, quality, and efficiency. Please note: This role operates on a rotating roster, including days, nights, and weekends - perfect for those who enjoy variety and flexibility.ResponsibilitiesCarrying out preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and safetyResponding to breakdowns quickly and effectively to minimise downtime.Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and reliability programsSupporting new equipment installations and providing technical input during commissioningMaintaining high standards of safe work practices and complianceAbout youCert III in Mechanical Engineering - Fitting & Turning (welding and fabrication experience highly valued)Experience In Food Manufacturing Or FMCG Environments Is PreferredAdditional tickets, such as Confined Space, Boiler Ticket, and Working at Heights, are a bonusComfortable using MEX or similar CMMS systems, with solid communication and teamwork skillsA positive, can-do attitude, reliability, and a strong team spiritBega Group StoryBega Group is home to many trusted and iconic food and beverage brands.
