Job Description

We are looking for a Maintenance Specialist to support automation in our Sensor & Cartridges (S&C) production area. You’ll work in a highly automated cleanroom facility launched in a few years ago, ensuring the reliability and performance of Industry 4.0 equipment.In this role, you’ll manage the full lifecycle of production systems—from commissioning to decommissioning—while performing maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting. We’re seeking a hands-on automation expert with training in automation, mechatronics, or electronics, and at least 3 years of experience in a regulated environment (ideally medtech). Strong knowledge of PLC, PLS, and MES systems is essential. A calm, communicative, and service-oriented mindset is key, along with proximity to the site due to on-call duties.General information:Start date: asapPlanned duration of employment: 1 year Workload: 100%Working hours: 3 shifts, with on-call duty (approx. 5 weekends/year)Tasks & responsibilities:Maintenance, calibration and servicing of automated machines in a regulated environment Support for production facilities, process control and automation systems, and software used Independent coordination and implementation of changes to equipment, systems, production facilities and QC systems – to a high standardCoordination of spare parts procurement for the facilitiesAdaptation of documents for operation (e.g. work instructions, maintenance instructions)Planning of maintenance windows in consultation with production, site facility management and external service providersGMP-compliant documentationCommissioning and decommissioning of equipmentProviding on-call service and troubleshootingDriving forward the digitalisation of maintenance (Industry 4.0; predictive maintenance; paperless documentation) Must haves: At least completed vocational training in automation, plant and equipment engineering, automation technology, mechatronics, electronics (master's degree overqualified, bachelor's degree might be acceptable if willing to do hands-on work)At least 3 years of professional experience in automation, preferably in a strictly regulated working environment (automotive, aerospace, food and beverage) MedTechKnowledge, especially programming experience, in the areas of PLC, PLS, MES and other OT systemsInitial experience in technical supportFluent written and spoken German with good grammar (documentation), good knowledge of EnglishWillingness to be on call (valid driving licence and own car required).Team-oriented behaviourVery good communication skills to ensure successful cooperation with internal customersAbility to analyse complex issues and solve problemsQuestion existing thought patterns and create new perspectives
