Maintenance Technician - Capital Linen Service (CLS)Location: Mitchell, ACTClassification: CLS 6 | Status: Casual | Hours: Up to 38 per weekThe RoleWe are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join the Capital Linen Service (CLS) team in Mitchell on a casual basis. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this hands-on role supports our laundry operations by ensuring equipment and facilities are safe, reliable, and efficient through effective reactive and preventative maintenance.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out reactive and preventative maintenance duties as directed.Investigate equipment breakdowns, identify root causes, recommend and complete repairs.Escalate major breakdowns or risks to the Maintenance Manager and coordinate repairs with internal and external contractors.Conduct routine inspections, report issues, and recommend improvements.Complete all work in accordance with CLS policies, WHS requirements, and industry best practice.Accurately update maintenance management systems (MEX) and provide reports on equipment status and outstanding tasks.Support maintenance projects and assist in spare parts inventory management.Foster a positive, safe, and collaborative team culture.EssentialWhat You RequireRecognised trade or tertiary qualification in a mechanical or electrical field.Experience in a manufacturing or processing environment, ideally within a commercial laundry or similar industrial operation.Strong problem-solving and prioritisation skills with a focus on safety and operational efficiency.Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a customer-focused approach.Current Class C driver's licence.Ability to work rotating shifts, including mornings, afternoons, weekends, and public holidays.Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and National Police Check.DesirableTickets or licences in any of the following: Working at Heights, Elevated Work Platform, Confined Space, Asbestos Awareness, or Forklift operation. (Training may be provided for the right candidate.)Work EnvironmentThis is a physically active role involving climbing, bending, reaching, and lifting (up to 10kg). Work may occasionally take place at heights, in confined spaces, or in noisy or warm environments.
