Position TitleAssistant Manager, Safety, Health, Security & EnvironmentReport ToHead Quality & SafetyPosition Summary Responsible for leading and overseeing the Safety, Health, Security, and Environment (SHSE) team to ensure that adequate SHSE practices are enforced and adhered to within MAB Engineering Services, for the protection of lives and property, and in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements. This role involves managing departmental budgets within approved limits, advising MAB Engineering management on matters related to SHSE, and ensuring that planned audits and general surveillance regarding SHSE are conducted within MAB Engineering.
The Assistant Manager is also responsible for meeting departmental KPIs and liaising effectively with local regulatory bodies such as DOSH, DOE, Bomba, etc. Key AccountabilityAdvise the employer or any person in charge of the workplace on appropriate SHSE measures to be implemented. Serve as the Secretary of the Safety Action Group as specified under the Occupational Safety and Health (Safety and Health Committee) Regulations 1996 and perform all functions of a secretary as defined in the regulation. Implement an efficient and cost-effective SHSE surveillance system covering all activities of MAB Engineering.
Prepare and implement SHSE measures to ensure compliance with all applicable SHSE regulations. Liaise with other MAB Engineering departments, government authorities, and external organizations on SHSE matters. Provide adequate instruction, guidance, and training related to SHSE and fire hazards to personnel under his/her supervision, as well as to other MAB Engineering personnel. Monitor and conduct investigations into accidents or incidents occurring within MAB Engineering. Ensure organizational compliance with requirements from the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), Fire Department (BOMBA), Security Act, Department of Environment (DOE), Aviation Act, and Machinery and Building By-Law Act.
Oversee scheduled waste operations and wastewater treatment plant activities, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements. Qualification & Working ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) or any related field with seven 4-5 years’ experience in the field and at least two (2) years in managerial or supervisory experience.
