Description:About The RoleManaaki by Mercy is a purpose-built day surgery facility, with two operating theatres, associated auxiliary and recovery areas. We receive patients from a variety of surgical specialities including orthopaedics, endoscopy, ophthalmology and plastics, urology and more.As Manaaki Clinical Leader, you will be responsible for providing operational leadership within Manaaki that ensures patient care requirements are delivered in a safe, effective and efficient manner. Your leadership will play a vital role in creating a collaborative and supportive environment that enables the team to perform effectively.This is a permanent role offered fulltime, Monday - Friday.Specific duties include: Provide direction and leadership on operational matters, including managing performance, rostering, recruitment and staff development in Manaaki.Ensure that there is sufficient Manaaki staff to enable maximum utilisation of theatre lists.Actively participate in quality improvement and risk management, both at a professional level and service level. Actively listen and work with the Manaaki team to proactively address perceived challenges, promoting a positive team culture.Skills and Experiences:Skills And ExperienceIn additional to your proven leadership abilities and comprehensive experience in the perioperative environment, our ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and established clinical credibility within the healthcare industry. You will also need to demonstrate the following:Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand or a relevant regulatory authority in New Zealand, pursuant to the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act (2003), as a licensed health professional and holding a current Annual Practising Certificate.Commitment to continuous improvement, quality and patient safety.Confidence to build successful working relationships with those around you, the ability to work independently or within a multidisciplinary team environmentRelevant post-graduate qualification would be preferred.To be eligible for employment at Mercy Hospital Dunedin, applicants will be required to provide vaccination history.Why Mercy Hospital?
