Indigenous Strategy and Partnerships (ISP) is a high performing team responsible for leading the department’s strategic commitments to improving life outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders and addressing the disproportionate representation of those experiencing vulnerability. The Manager is responsible for leading the departments legislative requirement (Public Sector Act 2022), to reframe its relationship with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples by fostering cultural safety and cultural responsiveness in the workplace and building the cultural capability of the and workforce. The manager will work closely with internal business units, oversight the department’s Yangga Dahgu Mekem – Gen: Reframing the Relationship Roadmap (the Roadmap) and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees, self-determination.Targeted VacancyIt is a genuine occupational requirement that this position be filled by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. The manager will work closely with internal business units, oversight the department's Yangga Dahgu Mekem - Gen: Reframing the Relationship Roadmap (the Roadmap) and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees, self-determination.As a Manager, You WillLead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of organisational cultural capability in alignment with the department's Roadmap, Action Plan, and obligations under the Public Sector Act 2022 (PSA, 22), ensuring equity, integrity, and accountability.Provide high-level strategic advice and authoritative guidance to senior management and key stakeholders on the reframed discussion to enhance cultural capability, organisational change, and compliance matters, including the preparation of high-quality written materials such as Cabinet submissions, briefing notes, and reports. This includes delivering strengths-based messages that support and enable positive outcomes and engaging in respectful, challenging discussions to drive progress and innovation.Coordinate and evaluate the impact and success of key programs and initiatives, mentoring central business units and regional offices to enhance their capacity to meet legislative and organisational objectives while promoting a strengths-based approach and influencing through uncertainty with a high degree of confidence.Facilitate consultation, collaboration, and negotiation with internal stakeholders to upport the development and implementation of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with the department's legislative responsibilities and government priorities, while fostering a positive and enabling organisational culture.Identify and address emerging opportunities, risks, and issues impacting the department's ability to meet its commitments under the Public Sector Act 2022, providing proactive solutions and maintaining a comprehensive overview of developments.Manage and oversee the deliverables of a small team, fostering a culture of collaboration, professional growth, and adherence to public sector values, while ensuring all deadlines, and performance requirements are met.It is a genuine occupational requirement that this position be filled by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
