Manager, Analytics (Senior Data Scientist)

OverviewThe Senior Data Scientist is responsible for leading advanced analytics projects for the Consumer and Business Banking units, with the goal of driving tangible business outcomes such as increased sales, revenue, and improved customer engagement. This position requires a visionary who is passionate about delivering impact through Advanced Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and AI, and who embraces end-to-end ownership. The successful candidate will shape AI strategy and execution to drive innovation, improve operations, and elevate customer relationships. This role reports to the Assistant General Manager of Business Campaigns & Analytics.Key Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesFunctional (job responsibilities)Lead Data-Driven Initiatives: Initiate and manage analytics projects for the Consumer and Business Banking units, driving sales, increasing revenue through cross-sell and up-sell, and improving customer retention and engagement. This includes using Advanced Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and AI to develop and improve customer segmentation.Support Business Decisions: Work closely with stakeholders and decision-makers to understand business requirements and embed the use of data analytics to assist in strategic business decisions, such as sales and acquisition strategies and revenue generation.Manage Projects and Develop Solutions: Manage data-driven projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are on time and within budget. This includes analyzing large datasets, applying statistical and machine learning methods to extract meaningful insights, and developing predictive models and solutions that address business needs.Improve Operations and Communication: Drive operational efficiency and effectiveness by streamlining and automating manual processes. Communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through clear and compelling data visualizations and reports.Mentor and Stay Current: Provide mentorship to junior data scientists to ensure high-quality solutions. Play an active role in the overall bank and department AI strategy, while continuously staying up-to-date with the latest data science tools and techniques.Jobholder RequirementMalaysian citizen.Education/QualificationBachelor's Degree in Data Science, Actuarial Studies, Banking/Finance, Business, Marketing, Mathematics/Statistics, Market Research or related disciplines.3 years and above relevant work experience.Modeling experience is a requirement for this role, including segmentation and propensity models.ExperienceExcellent understanding of and proficiency in SQL and Python, capable of scripting in SQL and using tools like Tableau, with experience in a Gauss DB Solutions environment and SAS is a bonus.Advanced project management skills are needed to lead data science projects from ideation to implementation, as well as experience with MLOps practices and tools.Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its data science services like Vertex AI, BigQuery, and Model Garden is required.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are needed to analyze complex datasets and identify insights, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
