The opportunityThe Mechanical Plant Design team (TPM) is part of engineering at HVDC, with the mechanical responsibilities for our green field HVDC Projects on a global scale. We are currently around 180 employees operating from 5 countries.We engineer the mechanical systems of HVDC converter stations, defining how high-voltage equipment is integrated into the overall plant design. From drawings to installation support and final documentation, we bring mechanical systems to life - driving the green energy transition in close collaboration with our Plants Civil Engineering , Plants Electrical Engineering and Plants Project Management offices.We are now looking for a manager for one of our TPM-teams! In this role you will be working in a global and diverse team together with managers from India, Canada, US and Sweden. You will have the personnel responsibility for a team of around 15 people reporting directly to you. You will be tasked with ensuring that engineering teams are adequately resourced, developed, and equipped to meet business needs, as well as ensuring that the company's culture and values are reflected in all employee practices and policies. We are supporting from our offices and thrive when we are collaborating with our colleagues, driving the green transition, where Safety and Quality stands as our guiding pillars” -- Hiring Manager Tommy HolmbergHow You’ll Make An ImpactBuilding and developing the team and the individuals in it by managing employee training and development initiatives, as well as providing strategic direction, leadership, and coordination of the function.Providing insight and managing priorities for the team while ensuring activities’ performance and quality goals are met during all project phases.Taking a proactive approach and actively participate in recruiting activities.Planning for project staffing and adjusting it according to business needs, as well as planning for both short-term and more strategic long-term changes in the team structure.Managing employee relations, developing, and executing employee engagement initiatives to foster a sense of community among employees.Partnering with the management team to develop, improve, and implement strategic people management initiatives and ensuring processes are in place to capture and share best practices and operational experiences.Your backgroundExperience as a people manager, or other relevant leadership experience.Experience working with multi-disciplinary project teams (civil, electrical, mechanical) on large infrastructure or energy projects, and/or an interest and willingness to learn about the technology and technical engineering.General understanding of design-for-installation, construction interfaces, and the lifecycle of mechanical engineering.Capability to balance technical decision-making and business priorities, ensuring design solutions align with project schedules, costs, and risk mitigation strategies.Strong communication, social, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with employees and management.
