Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.Work expectation for this role is to be in person, predominantly on the Kennesaw campus with occasional work from the Marietta campus.Job SummaryThe Manager of HRIS is an operational leader responsible for managing the institution's Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and associated support structures. This role ensures the effective use of HR technology to support data-driven decision-making and oversees the use of HR data feeding to downstream campus systems. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance employee experience, ensure compliance, and support institutional goals. Works together with the University System of Georgia Shared Services Center, campus departments such as University Information Technology Services, and external vendors to ensure project coordination, effective management, and facilitation of efficient operations to meet current and future business needs for the HR department.ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for analyzing and directing all functional-related activities within the areas that support the HRIS systems, providing prioritization of time and resourcesBuild and maintain a strong functional team of HR practitioners through effective recruiting, training, coaching, and team building, mentoring the HRIS staff to foster a culture of continuous improvement and service excellenceLead the strategy, implementation, and maintenance of the university's HRIS platformsEnsure data integrity, security, and compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulationsPartner with University System of Georgia Shared Services, University IT, and HR stakeholders to optimize system functionality and user experienceOversee delivery of training for HRIS users and documentation for system processesGenerate and analyze HR metrics and dashboards to support strategic planning and reportingCollaborate with Payroll, Finance, Legal, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of HRIS processesServe as a strategic advisor to senior HR leadershipParticipate in institutional committees and initiatives related to HR technologyOversee release of employee information and HR Data in response to Freedom of Information Act, Open Records requests, subpoenas, etc.Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, laws, and regulations governing HR data and systemsRequired QualificationsEducational RequirementsBachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related fieldRequired ExperienceFive (5) years of progressive experience in HRIS, preferably in higher education or a complex organization.Experience with major HRIS platforms and management systemsPreferred QualificationsAdditional Preferred QualificationsPHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or other relevant certificationPreferred Educational QualificationsAdvanced degree from an accredited institution of higher educationPreferred ExperienceExperience managing a teamExperience in metrics and dashboarding to drive data-drive decision makingAbilitiesKnowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesAble to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlinesAble to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditionsAble to influence and negotiate effectivelyAble to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlinesAble to maintain objectivity and confidentialitySkillsExcellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skillsProficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)Strong attention to detail and follow up skillsStrong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquetteStrong aptitude for balancing a need to be self-directed and take responsibility to move projects forward with discernment for seeking guidance on HR regulatory requirements and task complexitiesUSG Core ValuesThe University System of Georgia is comprised of our 26 institutions of higher education and learning as well as the System Office.
