This position is subject to a range of vetting checks, including a criminal records check and/or disclosure to ensure program participants are safeguarded.About The RoleChildFund is conducting a preliminary search for the Manager II project which will be responsible, with the support of the other project team members, for ensuring the effective and high-quality implementation of activities related to the Education Project in the target schools and communities. The Project Manager leads and coordinates the planning process for all project activities as well as their effective implementation with partners and the participation of schools and communities. The Project Manager will also lead the process of preparing project reports for submission to the donor. This position is contingent upon the successful award of the anticipated project. Human Resources Management Child Protection and Advocacy ChildFund Safeguarding Required Experience and Education Required Competencies Project Management and Implementation Provide strategic and operational leadership in the management and implementation of the project in targeted areas, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of results. Lead the development of annual activity plans and budgets in collaboration with the project team and implementing partners. Oversee the effective implementation of project activities in alignment with project strategies, in close coordination with CSOs, Provincial and District Education Authorities. Ensure systematic monitoring of activities, timely reporting, and active engagement of partners and children in all phases of the project cycle. Coordinate donor and joint partner field visits, ensuring quality supervision, training, and mentorship to strengthen implementation. Organize and facilitate monthly and quarterly Project Review meetings, prepare documentation, including developing presentations and synthesizing outcomes and ensure accurate recordkeeping. Produce and share quarterly updates on lessons learned and best practices with project teams, stakeholders, and the Country Manager. Ensure effective communication and coordination with consortium partners through regular meetings, reports, and decision-making forums. Act as Project Budget Holder, responsible for sound financial management, expenditure oversight, and compliance with ChildFund International procedures and donor requirements. Lead budget planning processes, ensuring alignment of resources with project objectives. Monitor monthly budget performance, track expenditures, and implement corrective actions to ensure financial discipline within established thresholds. Produce and present monthly financial performance updates to stakeholders during Project Review Meetings. Build and maintain strong partnerships with civil society organizations, government authorities at national, provincial, and district levels, and other key stakeholders. Coordinate with Logistics and Administration to ensure timely procurement of goods, materials, and services. Collaborate with implementing partners, Finance, M&E, and Education Specialist to ensure high-quality project reporting and delivery. Lead project monitoring and evaluation processes (Baseline, Midline, Endline), ensuring inclusive participation of children, communities, and partners. Oversee timely provision of resources and materials to communities and partners. Document and archive all project processes, plans, reports, and key outputs. Represent the project in provincial coordination forums and with relevant government sectors. Directly supervise other project team members such as project technical coordinators and officer. Ensure each team member develops and implements an annual performance plan. Conduct quarterly performance reviews in line with ChildFund’s performance management system. Oversee timely submission and approval of staff timesheets. Ensure staff are fully aware of and accountable for their roles and responsibilities as outlined in their job descriptions. Positions ChildFund as a significantly lead organization on child protection issues. Child rights and protection situation analysis, portfolio review on aspects of child protection and leads the development of CO program approaches within the blended models related to child protection. Facilitates/promotes child protection networks in alliance with local governments, institutions and organizations. Engages with partners to ensure that community-based child protection mechanisms, are in place and linked to formal child protection system in line with national policies and standards, in communities where ChildFund supports core outcomes for children. As needed, deploys to emergency responses and work closely with response teams in the Country Office to establish child protection responses through coordination, assessment, proposal development, program startup and evaluation. Child Protection focal point and follows-up on all complaints received, to ensure appropriate measures are taken per ChildFund’s policies and country’s legal framework. Investigation supports decision-making and implementation of appropriate actions in case, on violations in child safeguarding standards by staff or partner organizations. Development of staff skills on child protection in general and child safeguarding standards, in line with ChildFund’s safeguarding policy and procedures. Engagement with partners to ensure their understanding of ChildFund’s child safeguarding policy and standards. Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Child Safeguarding Policy. Master’s degree in education or equivalent experience in lieu of degree. At least 5-7 years of experience results-based in Education, Child Protection, Advocacy, program design, implementation and/or evaluation in relation to community-based and/or national Education, child protection systems, Advocacy and stakeholders In-depth understanding of the Education Sector Plan, child protection legal frameworks, situation, mechanism, issues and services. Versatile in networking, advocacy and building relationships with donors, partners and line ministries Proven ability to provide high quality child protection technical assistance, guidance, and coaching to field-based implementing staff and partners. At least 3 years’ experience in working on advocacy in development and/or emergency contexts preferably with an international development organization. At least five years’ work experience in project design and evaluation, networking, formulation and development sector specific policy direction, resource mobilisation, documentation and replication of best practice. Demonstrated experience working with children experiencing deprivation, exclusion and vulnerability and their families. Solid experience in the design and implementation of Education, WASH in Education, Child Protection & Advocacy programs/projects Proven ability in participatory training and capacity building for program design, delivery, and assessment. Strong monitoring and evaluation experience Good written and oral communication skills in English
