This enables SMS Global Group to effectively operate in the Asian and European markets, thereby providing services to our customers worldwide.  Job SummaryThe Manager Ocean Freight is responsible for overseeing and managing a team of 6 (Senior) Ocean Freight Specialists and 1 Supervisor Ocean Freight. This role involves ensuring the smooth execution of end-to-end ocean forwarding processes, driving operational excellence, and fostering a collaborative team environment. The Manager Ocean Freight will play a key role in transforming the team from a multi-cultural to an inter-cultural unit, enhancing team P&L performance, developing talent, exceeding customer expectations, and integrating innovative solutions. What are you going to do?Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Manage and lead a team of 6 (Senior) Ocean Freight Specialists and 1 Supervisor Ocean Freight. Oversee end-to-end ocean forwarding processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement within the team. Foster team building and create a cohesive inter-cultural team environment. Monitor and enhance team P&L performance. Develop and mentor team members to achieve their full potential. Strive to exceed customer expectations through exceptional service and innovative solutions. Integrate and implement innovative solutions to improve processes and outcomes. Qualifications:Proven experience in ocean freight management and logistics. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement. Experience in managing P&L performance. Talent development and mentoring skills. Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to exceeding expectations. Innovative thinking and problem-solving abilities. Skills:Leadership Communication Problem-solving Operational excellence Customer focus Innovation P&L management Talent development Inter-cultural competence Negotiation Regulatory compliance Who are we looking for:At least 5 years of experience in logistics/freight forwarding industry preferred.  Good team player, service-oriented and self-motivatedOrganizational and decision-making skills Strong communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel Be able to write and speak in English and Dutch.
