If you interested please apply online and send your resume to Anjimenez@mlkch.orgPosition SummaryThe Contracts Manager demonstrates strong attention to detail, sound organizational and analytical skills and will actively assist hospital leadership in coordinating activities related to contracts, contract management and contract negotiation for all contracts with the exception of payor agreements. Responsibilities with regard to payor agreements include supporting management and negotiation activities as needed, and ensuring proper maintenance of contract documents. Serves as liaison between the hospital staff and legal counsel in an effort to facilitate the contract process. Responsible for understanding the detailed procedures of the contract administration process, evaluating and recommending processes to ensure compliance with Martin Luther King, Jr Community Hospital (MLK) policies and administering and maintaining its contract management database which houses all of MLK’s contracts. The Contracts Manager will directly supervise the Contract Specialist(s).Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesPhysician contract(s): Provides support on the preparation and revisions of all physician contracts. Reviews all physician contracts to assure deliverables and key performance standards are clearly delineated. Reviews all physician contracts to assure hours expended are within contract scope and are clearly defined and delineated. Periodically meets with administrative leader responsible for each physician contracts to review status of work performed, timeliness and accuracy of hours reporting, meeting deliverables, etc. Participates with appropriate administrative leaders to develop new physician contracts as needed and assure that deliverables, compliance, and key performance measures are properly included in contract language. Through continuing education, newsletters, and other sources, remains current and conversant in all major federal and state issues governing physician contracts. As requested, participates with appropriate administrative leaders in meetings with contracted physicians to review contract compliance, time reporting, scope, deliverables, and other contract performance issues. As requested, supports physician contract negotiation process by providing administrative team with specifics on contract performance, compliance, and deliverables.Maintain various physician/provider contract templatesDevelop and maintain contract dashboard/reports to include contract activity, renewals, expirations, and teminations Ensure retention of supporting documents including certificate of insurances, signed offer letters, communications with legal, FMV, signed provider requisitions forms, etc. Ensure correct attestations are provided for various types of contracts Manage the Medical Directorship time keeping on TERMSEnsure providers are trained and submitting monthly timesheet via TERMSWork with Director of Physician Relations to ensure compensation models are within FMV and commercial reasonableness per organizational policiesManage the internal contract review process through Meditract to ensure timely executionCoordinate with appropriate administrative leaders to align necessary billing and HIT infrastructure access to facilitate performance of contract deliverables, compliance, and key performance indicatorsAll other vendor contract(s):Provides support on the preparation and revisions of all vendor contracts. Reviews all major vendor contracts to assure deliverables and key performance standards are clearly delineated. Reviews all vendor contract reporting and invoices to assure that services and expenses billed are within contract scope and terms. Periodically meets with administrative leader responsible for each major vendor contract to review status of work performed, timeliness and accuracy of invoices and billing, meeting deliverables, etc. Interfaces with Controller and Senior Accountant to assure that all expenses related to major vendor contracts are properly classified and reported. Participates with appropriate administrative leaders to develop new major vendor contracts as needed and assure that deliverables, compliance, and key performance measures are properly included in agremeent language. Participates with administrative leader responsible for major vendor contract in contract review meetings with vendor. As requested, supports major vendor negotiation process by providing administrative team with specifics on contract performance, compliance, and deliverables. Position Requirements EducationBachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Finance or Accounting) or Health Administration or other related field Qualifications/Experience3-5 years recent experience in a hospital / physician group setting in which individual had significant exposure to physician contracts and/or vendor contracts. Special Skills/KnowledgeKnowledge of basic business law provisions around contracts (i.e, termination, breach, etc.)Working knowledge of federal and state regulations around physician contracts (i.e., Stark, Anti-Kickback, Anti-Referral, etc.)Demonstrated tact and discretion when interacting with physicians and other stakeholdersAbility to apply judgment and informed decisionsAbility to analyze and develop solutions to problemsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to manage, organize, prioritize, multi-task and adapt to changing priorities. Ability to work effectively both as a team player and leader.
