A Brief OverviewUnder the general direction of the Senior Director of Imaging, the Radiology Manager leads and manages the operational activities for assigned locations and support areas. The positions major responsibilities are managing the day-to-day operations of a dynamic imaging department including delivery of care, human resource management, capital and operational budgeting, equipment oversight, financial management and performance/process improvement initiatives. What You Will DoInterview and hire qualified job applicantsPrepare formal performance evaluations and discuss evaluations with employees.
Counsel employees on unsatisfactory performance and/or work behaviorMaintain time records and submit proper information to the payroll departmentAssist in preparation of operational budgets (revenue and expenses) for assigned areas of responsibilityAnalyze monthly operating and financial statements for area of responsibility. Responsible for meeting budgetary targets including operating costs and revenue productionCharge reconciliation to monitor patient charges and intervene as necessary to ensure timely and accurate flow of patient billing informationReview daily patient schedules for assigned areas.
Ensure team members are reassigned as necessary to provide optimal coverage for workloadReview incomplete reports and address as necessaryInteract with supervisors, technologist, nurses, radiologists and clerical staff throughout the day to address and resolve issues that impact our ability to provide servicesManage staff and develop training materials.
Update and/or write new policies and procedures to support new and existing programsEducation QualificationsAssociate's Degree and a graduate of a Radiology/Medical Imaging School Required Bachelor's Degree in Business or healthcare related field Preferred Experience Qualifications Minimum three (3) years healthcare operations supervisory experience or five (5) years clinical experience with demonstrated success and leadership skills Required Skills And AbilitiesBroad knowledge of health care administration, principles and practices within a managed care environment or progressive healthcare system Effective managerial, administrative and leadership abilities applied to the operations of an Imaging department Experience with effectively managing resources and budgets Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment, interacting positively and productively with team members, physicians, other department managers/directors, and organizational team members Proven leadership, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities Effective communication skills both in written and verbal presentation with a communication style that is open and fosters trust, credibility and understanding Proficient working knowledge (or ability to learn quickly) of Microsoft Office, PACS, budgeting software and other computer software Licenses and CertificationsRadiography - American Registry Radiologic Technologist Required orRegistered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Required orNuclear Medicine Technologist Certification - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board Required Registered in two (2) modalities Preferred Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire.
