The Division plays a vital role in delivering sustainable, safe, and innovative spaces that support the University’s teaching, research, and community engagement objectives.About The OpportunityThe Manager, Security will lead the provision of security and parking enforcement across all UOW campuses. This role will oversee the development and implementation of security strategies, manage contracts and tenders, and liaise with emergency services and government agencies. You will also ensure access control is effectively managed and contribute to crisis planning and incident response.This is a leadership role requiring high-level stakeholder engagement, contract management expertise, and a strong understanding of legislative frameworks relevant to security and safety in the education sector.Key ResponsibilitiesYour key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Oversee and manage security operations across all campusesDevelop and implement strategic security measures and awareness campaignsManage security and parking enforcement contracts, tenders, and performanceLiaise with emergency services and government agenciesInvestigate incidents and prepare reports for senior leadershipLead and supervise the Security CoordinatorContribute to UOW’s Crisis Plan and WHS FrameworkAbout YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experienceProven experience in corporate risk, security, or emergency services management within a complex, multi-site organisationStrong knowledge of risk mitigation, emergency response, and threat managementDemonstrated ability to manage large operational contracts and lead teamsHigh-level communication and stakeholder engagement skillsExperience with access control, surveillance, and intrusion detection systemsA current NSW Security Licence (Classes 1AC) or willingness to obtain within 6 monthsA valid Australian Driver LicenceThis position is classified as child-related work and requires a Working with Children Check and a National Criminal History Check.Position DescriptionHow To ApplyTo apply for this position, you are required to submit an up-to-date CV and a cover letter (no more than 4 pages) summarising your skills and ability as they relate to the selection criteria listed in the position description.For further information about this role please contact Clatyton McDowell: ********@uow.edu.auClosing Date: Friday 24 October 2025, 12.00 pmNote: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
