Manager: Security Systems Design and Applications - Financial Services SectorOur client in the Financial Services sector is seeking a highly experienced Manager: Security Systems Design and Applications to provide strategic oversight of security infrastructure, guide advanced system design initiatives, and ensure the effective implementation of security technologies across a complex organisational environment. This role offers the opportunity to lead a specialised team, drive innovation in security systems, and contribute meaningfully to operational resilience and organisational safety.Key Responsibilities:Oversee the full Security Systems Design and Applications function, ensuring that robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure is implemented and maintained.Lead the research, design, evaluation, and implementation of advanced security systems to strengthen organisational protection and operational continuity.Provide strategic direction and high-level technical guidance to security researchers, functional specialists, and system engineers.Evaluate and integrate new security technologies and methodologies, ensuring alignment with organisational security objectives and industry best practice.Develop and oversee incident response plans, ensuring readiness to mitigate and resolve security system incidents effectively.Establish, monitor, and optimise performance metrics (KPIs) for all security systems and applications.Ensure compliance with security standards, governance requirements, and regulatory frameworks across all projects.Manage vendor partnerships, assess third-party security solutions, and ensure alignment with internal standards.Drive collaboration between the security system design team, architects, and key stakeholders to ensure seamless integration into wider infrastructure.Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring the resilience and recoverability of critical security systems.Lead and develop a high-performing team, ensuring ongoing skills development, coaching, and performance excellence.Experience:8-10 years’ experience in security systems research, design, implementation, or applications support.3-5 years’ experience in a managerial or leadership capacity within a technical or security systems environment.Strong understanding of system architecture, system integration, security frameworks, governance, and operational risk management.Experience evaluating emerging technologies and driving innovation within a security infrastructure context.Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary technical teams.Demonstrated ability to manage complexity, influence stakeholders, and operate effectively at a strategic level.Educational Requirements:An Honours degree (NQF Level 8) in Information Technology, Security Systems Management, Electronic Security Systems, or a related field.Additional certifications in security frameworks, system architecture, or risk management would be advantageous.Demonstrated continuous professional development in security technologies, industry standards, and emerging methodologies.If you are ready to take a leading role in shaping the security systems landscape of a complex, high-demand environment and want to contribute to operational safety at an executive level, we encourage you to apply.Mindcor will respond to shortlisted candidates only.
