The roleFull-time positionWork location: CopenhagenReporting to: Partner, TaxThe team you’ll be a part of Our Tax team is responsible for all tax-related matters in our organisation. Our focus is primarily on tax structuring and due diligence of our new investments, as well as supporting our asset management team on existing assets, designing new fund structures and managing existing funds. We are a small team who care about and support each other and have a lot of fun doing all things tax across AIP.The role you’ll play As our new Tax Manager, you will engage in investor dialogue regarding tax aspects of investments, as well as collaborating with our in-house legal team on active management of tax and legal documents, assisting our Finance team on compliance and assisting colleagues regarding individual tax matters. The range of tax work that we do is broader than that of many tax functions. We do high-complexity international M&A and fund structuring, portfolio maintenance, withholding compliance, assist international colleagues with their personal tax affairs, discuss both VAT set-up and specific invoices – and lots more.You will work closely with our three other full-time employees as well as the three part-time students of the Tax team. You will report directly to the Head of Tax and have the main responsibility for specific investments and projects in a very collaborative and inclusive environment.Further tasks will include:Tax structuring and due diligence of new investments, almost all of which are internationalRestructuring, refinancing and divestment of existing assetsManaging tax compliance across investments by making sure that tax returns are prepared (by counterparties and/or advisors), ensuring that withholding tax documentation is up to date, and keeping a continued focus on tax controlling and tax risk management.Participating in the day-to-day tax matters of AIP Management P/S and our foreign officesInteracting with advisors, both in Denmark and internationallyWhat you’ll need to bring3–5 years of relevant post-graduate experience from tax advisory, pension fund, private equity, corporate in-house tax function or similarStrong analytical skills and a structured approach to workExcellent English communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and present information to stakeholdersExperience with M&A taxAn entrepreneurial mindset, positive attitude, and desire to work in a fast-growing organisation with responsibility and flexibility to shape your own working dayA team-oriented approach, valuing collaboration and cross-functional workExceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with colleagues at all levels in a diverse, multicultural environmentYour colleagues say you...Set and maintain high standards for quality and performanceCollaborate well, share information, and support others to achieve team objectivesAct with honesty and diplomacy in all interactionsCommunicate effectively and make complex topics easy to understandWork systematically and methodically, staying committed to tasks and projectsAnalyse and prioritise the most important issues firstAbout AIP Management AIP is a Nordic-based firm specialising in decarbonisation and energy infrastructure investments that facilitate the clean energy transition in Europe and North America.
