The company operates within the digital lending and consumer finance space, leveraging technology to simplify access to credit and enhance financial inclusion.About the RoleThe Managing Director will provide strategic direction, leadership, and oversight across all business functions — driving operational excellence, profitability, and innovation in digital lending and financial services. The role requires a hands-on leader with the vision to expand market presence, optimize risk frameworks, and lead the organization through its next phase of growth.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic LeadershipDefine and implement the company’s strategic direction across digital lending, consumer finance, and SME financing.Lead cross-functional teams in achieving business targets, portfolio growth, and sustainable profitability.Drive innovation in product design and digital lending solutions to enhance customer acquisition and retention.Business & Operations ManagementOversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency across credit, risk, finance, and customer service functions.Establish and monitor operational KPIs and ensure alignment with company objectives.Strengthen internal controls, risk frameworks, and process automation for scale and performance.Risk & ComplianceDevelop robust credit and risk assessment models tailored to digital lending operations.Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines from the CBN and other financial authorities.Oversee credit portfolio quality, delinquency rates, and recovery processes.Financial & Growth ManagementManage the company’s P&L, ensuring optimal asset quality and liquidity.Lead fundraising and partnership initiatives with banks, fintechs, and institutional investors.Identify and expand new market opportunities in digital credit and alternative finance.Stakeholder ManagementServe as the primary liaison with shareholders, regulators, and strategic partners.Build and maintain relationships with ecosystem players—fintech partners, credit bureaus, and payment processors.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or professional certification is an advantage).10–12 years of experience in financial services, fintech, or digital lending, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (COO, Head of Operations, Chief Risk Officer, Growth Manager, or MD).Proven experience in digital lending, risk management, and credit operations.Strong understanding of fintech products, credit lifecycle management, and data-driven decision making.Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement, and strategic execution skills.Ideal Candidate ProfileA fintech-savvy leader with a track record of scaling lending operations and driving sustainable portfolio growth.Demonstrates balance between innovation and compliance, capable of steering teams through regulated environments.Strong commercial acumen and a hands-on approach to solving operational and financial challenges.How to apply:Interested and qualified candidates should send their resumes to esther@dwightpatterson.co.uk
