Role Summary:The MD will be responsible for overseeing the overall business operations, strategic direction, and regulatory governance of the AT Entities. This role requires a seasoned leader with deep experience in regulated financial services, a strong understanding of local and EU regulatory requirements, and demonstrated leadership in high-growth or digital asset businesses.Key Responsibilities:Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all business activities of the AT Entities.Ensure full compliance with local and EU regulatory requirements, particularly those set by the FMA (Austrian Financial Market Authority).Drive business performance through effective governance, risk management, and operational excellence.Represent the AT Entities in regulatory discussions and maintain a proactive relationship with local regulators.Lead and manage key teams across functions; ensure alignment with group-level strategies and policies.Ensure the local entity operates in accordance with MiFID and other applicable EU financial regulations.Serve as the local representative (“known face”) to the FMA and other stakeholders.Maintain and demonstrate a deep understanding of cryptocurrency markets and related compliance implications.Be available locally in Vienna to fulfill regulatory and operational responsibilities.Key Requirements:Must be based in Austria and possess professional-level German language skills, as fluency is essential for communication with the local regulator (FMA)Proven track record in a senior leadership role within EU-regulated financial institutions.In-depth knowledge of Austrian and EU financial regulations, including MiFID.Previous experience interacting with the FMA or other EU regulators is strongly preferred.Demonstrated experience and interest in cryptocurrency and digital assets.Relevant academic background, supported by industry certifications and continuous education (e.g., seminars, professional licenses).Ability to manage multiple roles or responsibilities across entities (“double-hatting”), with sufficient time commitment.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
