Welcome to Mandai X. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager/Senior Manager, Sales & Partnership, IP to lead the development and commercialisation of the Ranger Buddies IP.
This role will focus on overseeing the creation of the animation series and building strong, long-term partnerships with global content distributors to secure broadcast sales. The successful candidate will work closely with our production studio, content teams, and strategic partners to drive the success of the Ranger Buddies brand and its mission of environmental conservation and sustainability. Job Duties And ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership for IP Development & Growth: Lead the development and execution of a strategic plan to expand the Ranger Buddies IP globally, ensuring content resonates with audiences while supporting Mandai X’s mission for sustainability.
Act as the key driver for content innovation, ensuring alignment between creative development and the brand’s educational goals, particularly focusing on sustainability, wildlife conservation, and the promotion of environmental stewardship. Animation Series Production OversightManage the end-to-end development of the Ranger Buddies animation series, collaborating closely with global production studios, creative teams, and internal departments to ensure timely, high-quality delivery. Ensure that all stages of content production, from initial concept to final output, align with the brand’s values, engaging children and providing educational value, while working closely with the Creative team to verify consistency and quality.
Continuously assess content to ensure its impact and relevance, keeping it fresh and in tune with evolving audience preferences. Content Sales & Distribution ManagementBuild and nurture strategic relationships with key global content distributors, broadcasters and licensing agents to secure and negotiate distribution deals for the Ranger Buddies content. Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive the growth of the Ranger Buddies brand across multiple platforms, including broadcast, streaming services, and digital media. Negotiate and finalize contracts with distributors, ensuring alignment with the brand’s goals and optimising revenue opportunities.
Actively explore and secure new content distribution channels to maximise visibility and growth, including digital platforms and international markets. Partnership & Stakeholder EngagementCultivate and maintain strong relationships with strategic partners, including broadcasters, content distributors and licensing agents ensuring alignment on goals and expectations. Manage ongoing communication with stakeholders, ensuring smooth project execution and fostering long-term partnerships. Serve as the primary point of contact for all partner negotiations, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and collaboration while maintaining the brand’s strategic vision.
Budget & Financial OversightManage the overall budget for the Ranger Buddies content development and sales initiatives, ensuring that projects remain within financial parameters while maximising returns. Track and report on royalty fees and licensing revenue from content distribution, ensuring accurate payments and financial reporting. Collaborate with the finance team to develop and maintain detailed financial reports that outline the performance of content sales, licensing deals, and associated royalties. Review and track the financial terms of licensing agreements, including royalty rates, advance payments, and payment schedules, ensuring compliance with contract terms.
Oversee the creation and management of deal memos, ensuring all financial terms and key deliverables are clearly outlined and align with business goals. Regularly update senior management on revenue performance, highlighting successes, areas for improvement, and financial projections for upcoming deals. Work closely with internal teams to forecast revenue streams, monitor cash flow from sales, and adjust strategies as needed to optimize financial performance. Job RequirementsProven Experience in Children’s Content: A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in content development, licensing, and distribution, with a strong focus on children’s media or educational content.
Experience working with well-established brands such as Disney, Nickelodeon, or PBS Kids is highly desirable. Leadership in IP Commercialisation: Demonstrated success in driving the growth and commercialisation of children’s IPs, with experience overseeing content development, production, and distribution strategies. Experience working with companies that have a mission-driven focus, such as National Geographic Kids or Sesame Workshop, is an advantage. Content Distribution Expertise: In-depth knowledge and experience negotiating global distribution deals with broadcasters, streaming platforms, and content distributors. Experience working with high-profile content distributors such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, or Hulu is preferred. Track Record in Sales & Partnerships:
Proven experience in building and managing relationships with key partners, including broadcasters, content distributors, and licensing agents. Demonstrated success in securing long-term content deals and revenue-generating partnerships. Experience in Managing Complex Projects: Expertise in managing large-scale content production and distribution projects, ensuring they meet deadlines, budget, and quality standards. Passion for Education & Sustainability: A passion for creating content that educates and engages children on important global issues, such as sustainability, wildlife conservation, and environmental awareness. Experience in brands that emphasise educational value and sustainability, such as Blue Planet or Wild Kratts, would be beneficial. Cross-Cultural & Global Experience:
Experience working in diverse, cross-cultural environments, with a global understanding of children’s content consumption and distribution trends. Fluency in multiple languages is a plus, especially in regions where Ranger Buddies aims to expand its footprint. environments. Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in children’s media, entertainment law, or IP management are a plus. Specialised Knowledge in Children’s Content:
Comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of children’s media, including age-appropriate content design, pedagogical principles, and how to engage children in meaningful and educational ways through storytelling, animation, and interactive content. Project Management & Organisational Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in project management methodologies (e. g. , Agile, Waterfall) with the ability to plan, execute, and oversee large-scale content development initiatives, from conceptualisation through to market release. Financial and Contractual Acumen: Solid understanding of financial models, including royalties, advances, and revenue-sharing structures specific to content distribution. Experience with financial forecasting and contract negotiation is an asset. Professional Development:
