We’re a passionate team of builders who use technology to craft elegant and delightful solutions to challenging real world problems.What you will be working onBrewBird's Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and qualifying critical components and electromechanical assembly processes with our suppliers. This role will take designs from initial concepts to full production within the supply chain. This encompasses everything from early supplier sourcing assessments (in collaboration with the SCM and design team) and making sourcing decisions, to industrialization and quality control activities. This position demands excellent communication skills, strong supplier management expertise, a willingness to travel domestically and internationally, and the ability to make critical decisions in time-sensitive situations. This role supports diverse process technologies, including injection molding, machining, sheet metal manufacturing, fluid systems and electromechanical assembly.The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise in plastics and metal with strong problem-solving abilities, cross-functional collaboration and project leadership skills to deliver world-class parts at scale.BrewBird operates in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where flexibility, initiative, and adaptability are essential. If you’re excited to help shape the future of coffee technology, we’d love to meet you—let’s grab a cup together.Key Responsibilities:Work with design teams to understand design intent, provide input and suggestions accounting for manufacturability and manufacturing processes.Provide thorough Design for Manufacturability assessments to anticipate issues, manage risks and influence designs at the early stages.Work closely with suppliers to develop processes, troubleshoot issues, document and control critical parameters and scale production to meet best in class requirements.Drive DOE, process capability, PFMEA, cycle time studies and line balancing activities at suppliers to collect the necessary data needed to drive decisions related to design, process, cost and supplier selection.Work with engineering team members to determine root causes of product defects, poor product performance, and line down situations.Responsible for development & implementation of IQC, IPQC and OQC at supplier sites to ensure incoming products at BrewBird is defect free.Accountable for supplier audits to ensure their ability to meet part performance, delivery, and reliability expectations.Validate supplier corrective actions involving design and/or process changes to ensure they are robust, sustainable, and implemented for similar potential concerns across manufacturing lines and/or suppliers.Desired Qualification and Skills:BS Degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Industrial / Material/Manufacturing Engineering or evidence of experience and exceptional ability.7+ years of assembly plant experience supporting plastic/machining/sheet metal/electromechanical assembly/harness or similar in a Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering role.Strong mechanical background, including statistical tolerance analysis, design quality assessment, and improvement techniques.Strong technical writing ability and an ability to explain complex issues in a concise and plain manner. Must be familiar with SPC and data analysis.In-depth knowledge of GD&T, experienced in reviewing dimensional quality, reports and driving tooling adjustment to achieve part and process maturity.Experience in a manufacturing setup handling Measurement system analysis, SPC (Cp/Cpk analysis, Control Plans, FMEA & OEE.In-depth understanding and knowledge of metals and plastics manufacturing processes, equipment, and metallurgy. Demonstrate hands-on experience with detailed failure analysis and troubleshooting skills.Proven track record in managing Asia-based supply chains and building supplier relationships.Self-motivated and capable of working independently.Demonstrated supplier development and management skills. Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Excellent team building skills in dealing with suppliers, peers, and other functional areas.Fluency in Six Sigma problem-solving method and tools including DOE, fishbone, FMEA, Control Charts and statistical analysis.Demonstrated experience solving process yield, throughput and product quality problems.Experience in Providing DF(X) design for manufacturing/test/Assy feedback.Ability to define and execute a project using project management techniques.Fluent in English and Chinese.Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and 3D CAD software.Logistics:This is a regular, full-time position.Employee must work in Asia.Compensation is competitive with other Asia-based Manufacturing Engineer positions.Benefits:At BrewBird, we put our people first.
