The role involves ensuring compliance with customer and product specifications, validating manufacturing processes, and driving product manufacturability.ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with customer/product procurement specifications. Validate manufacturing processes to meet all customer and internal requirements. Initiate and drive product manufacturability. Review and approve planning document releases. Conduct Advanced Quality Planning (AQP). Direct and summarize tooling requirements. Create Visual Work Instructions (VWI). Meet cost targets and eliminate waste from manufacturing processes. Develop clear and concise work instructions for detail parts, sub-assemblies, and top assemblies. Apply operation time standards and develop Work Combination Sheets (WCS). Ensure manufacturability of detail parts, sub-assemblies, and top assemblies. Provide technical guidance between manufacturing and customer engineering. Collaborate with suppliers to develop processes and resolve issues. Lead the initial manufacturing cycle for new product introductions. Adhere to delivery schedules and coordinate with relevant parties for schedule adjustments. Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes. Identify and implement cost reduction strategies, potentially leading special initiatives. Provide technical support and lead a Production Support Team to address manufacturing issues. Perform Root Cause and Preventive Actions to resolve nonconforming products. Document and validate processes for machining, forming, stamping, heat treating, and chemical processing of materials such as titanium, Inconel, aluminum, and stainless steel. Ensure documentation and implementation of engineering changes. Coordinate and drive tooling design for manufacturing and assembly processes. Develop manufacturing processes based on company capabilities. Review and recommend improvements for production drawings. Contribute to the quoting process with relevant data and information. Follow all company policies and procedures. Coach and support fellow Manufacturing Engineers on process improvement projects and initiatives. Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or another Engineering discipline with 7+ years of engineering experience, preferably in an Aerospace environment. Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or another Engineering discipline with 6+ years of engineering experience in an Aerospace environment. Knowledge of sheet metal and aerospace materials. Understanding of sheet metal related processes such as welding, forming, NDT, and geometric tolerance. Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in manufacturing engineering, process improvement, aerospace, manufacturing process, continuous improvement, and project management.Work EnvironmentThis position is onsite, working a straight 40-hour week from Monday to Friday. The schedule is flexible, allowing start times between 6 am and 8 am, with a typical day running from 7 am to 4 pm. The role involves working in the main building with a team of 15 Manufacturing Engineers, including 3 in planning.
