Valence Surface Technologies is a full-service surface finishing company specializing in the commercial aerospace, defense, space and satellite industries. With ten strategically located sites across the United States, Valence provides a start to finish solution from NDT and chemical processing, to paint and sub-assembly. ResponsibilitiesDesign, create and implement tools and techniques to reduce labor costs, improve turn time and quality for operations process steps. Example: masking, sanding, paint, demask, etc. Review current process techniques on long standing products and identify and implement improvements to aids, tooling, and templates to make process more repeatable and consistent.
Reviewing customer specifications for new products for detailed requirements to set up new processes or establish gaps between current practices and specification requirements. Coordinate process optimization in regard to tooling, operational sequencing, throughput, and cost analysis on new/existing packages, and drive cost reduction on materials, labor, and paintPerform project management to meet required goals and deadlines. Oversee first article qualification to ensure time optimization, pricing evaluation and proper engineering. Coordinate with the planning team for the creation of accurate and detailed work orders for all new and existing orders along with the creation of new technique cards.
Coordinate and collaborate with other project team members to ensure continuous success in meeting required deadlines and product goals. Create and revise internal processing procedures and quality work instructions for performing quality control tests. Perform document control of customer’s engineering. Other duties as assigned. QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Processing, or Aeronautical Engineering Preferred. 5 plus years of experience in chemical processing or related industry engineering experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office and CATIAExport Compliance RequirementThis position requires access to EAR or ITAR controlled technologies. Applicants are required to be eligible for employment under U. S.
