Marketing & Communications Student PlacementThe Hellenic Community of Western Australia (HCWA) is inviting penultimate or final-year university students to undertake a Marketing and Communications placement within our Marketing team, commencing in mid-January 2026.This is an opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in a dynamic communications environment, supporting the marketing efforts of the Hellenic Community Group — including St Andrew’s Grammar, Hellenic Community Aged Care, and the Hellenic Community of WA.About the RoleAs a Marketing and Communications Placement Student, you will work alongside experienced specialists to assist with:Developing and implementing marketing and communication strategies for community events, programs, and initiatives.Creating and curating content for social media and newsletters.Designing and coordinating promotional materials, including flyers and brochures.Writing and editing stories, media releases, and other community communications.Supporting event planning, promotion, and on-the-day coverage.Maintaining brand consistency across all platforms and communications.Engaging with stakeholders, media, and community partners to enhance visibility and participation.About YouWe are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic student who is eager to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting.You will ideally:Be in your penultimate or final year of a Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related degree.Possess strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.Have a sound understanding of social media management and digital content creation (e.g. Canva, Mailchimp, Meta Business Suite).Demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.Be eager to learn and contribute to meaningful community-focused projects.A connection to or interest in the Hellenic/Greek community is welcomed but not essential.What You’ll GainPractical industry experience across multiple sectors — education, aged care, and community services.Mentorship and professional development from experienced marketing and communications practitioners.The opportunity to build a diverse portfolio of published work.A chance to make a tangible contribution to a well-respected community organisation.How to ApplyTo express your interest, please email your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your course, placement requirements, and career aspirations to marketing@hcwa.org.
