Backed by leading PE and VC clients, Discern is redefining how due diligence, portfolio monitoring, and pipeline forecasting get done. We’re looking for a driven, creative, and curious Marketing and Sales Development Associate to join our growing team. This hybrid role is designed for someone eager to kickstart a go-to-market (GTM) career—whether you see your future in sales, marketing, or both. You’ll spend roughly half your time prospecting and testing new outbound strategies, and the other half supporting our marketing programs—from events and campaigns to content and customer storytelling. Your Responsibilities Sales Development (80%) Generate and qualify new leads through cold calling (100+ dials a day), email outreach, and LinkedIn prospecting. Build and A/B test new outreach sequences across multiple products and buyer personas. Identify high-potential accounts and schedule discovery meetings for Discern's CEO. Track activity metrics in HubSpot and collaborate closely with sales and marketing leadership to refine messaging, targeting, and cadence. Marketing & Content (20%) Support execution of marketing campaigns, events, and customer programs. Assist with drafting blog content, case studies, and product spotlights. Help plan and coordinate webinars, live events, and industry conferences. Contribute to paid ad campaigns, email nurtures, and social media efforts. Create and edit sales collateral such as pitch decks, sell sheets, and case studies Collaborate with product and design teams on creative projects like product videos and digital assets. What We’re Looking For A self-starter excited to learn both sales and marketing within a fast-paced B2B SaaS environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for storytelling and outreach. Curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to test, learn, and iterate. Professionalism and persistence - comfortable handling objections and rejections with composure. Detail-oriented work ethic with strong organizational and analytical skills. A positive, team-first attitude and the ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment. Bonus points forExperience in a BDR, SDR, or marketing internship role. Familiarity with Hubspot, ZoomInfo, Wordpress, and / or Loom Experience using LLM tools like ChatGPT or Claude Interest in SaaS and / or Private Equity
