About This OpportunitySignal Flare is a grassroots community organisation in Brisbane providing connection, dignity and support to people experiencing homelessness. Our volunteer team runs community BBQs, donation drives and outreach programs that bring people together and remind them they’re not alone.We’re looking for a Volunteer Marketing, Communications & Social Media Officer to help us share these stories and grow our reach. You’ll play a key role in crafting content that shines a light on the people and communities we support, helping to build awareness and inspire action.Your contribution will help create a kinder city where everyone feels a sense of belonging and dignity.Key DutiesCreate and schedule social media posts across Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.Support internal and external communications such as newsletters and campaign updates.Help develop creative ideas to strengthen Signal Flare’s voice and visibility.Capture or curate images, videos and stories that highlight our impact.Skills & ExperienceStudies or experience in Marketing, Communications, PR or Social Media.Confident writing engaging copy and creating visual content.Organised, proactive and comfortable working independently.Passionate about community, equality and using creativity for good.What You’ll GainThe chance to make a genuine difference through your skills.Experience in grassroots, purpose-driven marketing.Portfolio-ready work that showcases your initiative and heart.A welcoming volunteer team that values collaboration and kindness.Every story you share and every idea you bring helps us connect more people with dignity and hope.
