Position: Marketing Creative Specialist I - PhilanthropyPosition location: Irving, Texas (TX)Council website: https://www.scouting.org/careersAPPLY NOWPosition OverviewThe Philanthropic Marketing Creative Specialist I plays a key role in inspiring donor support and strengthening the Scouting America brand. This position collaborates across the Office of Development and the organization—including the National Office of Marketing—to create compelling materials that motivate prospective donors, engage current supporters, and ensure consistency in brand voice and messaging.The primary responsibility of this role is to develop creative assets that drive philanthropic support while upholding the highest brand standards. Working closely with internal partners, the specialist transforms insights and trends into impactful donor communications, designs fundraising materials, and ensures alignment across various media channels.This role also oversees the creation of multimedia assets, partners with marketing and design peers to execute campaigns, and recommends process improvements that enhance quality and efficiency. The Philanthropic Marketing Creative Specialist I contributes to revitalizing the iconic Scouting program and advancing its mission to prepare young people for a lifetime of leadership and service. This position reports to the Manager of Donor Relations.ResponsibilitiesServes as part of the team ensuring the future of an iconic American brand.Works closely with peers in development services, fundraisers, writers, and partners in related departments including marketing, publications, web, social, alumni, and more.Translates customer insights data, and current trends, into compelling work that engages audiences, builds trust, and drives them to support Scouting.Participates in ideation and creates/designs digital and print-ready assets for donor engagement and stewardship campaigns.Innovates donor communications by crafting design visuals for proposals and proposal layouts/templates, case statements, philanthropic initiatives, and event marketing support.Works closely with key stakeholders to establish/adapt/expand the Scouting America Foundation brand guidelines, create fundraising toolkits, templates, etc. in support of fundraising initiatives.Oversees and directs the creation of a versatile library of photo and video assets for philanthropic engagement and stewardship in cooperation with the development services, Scouting America multi-media, and marketing teams.Partners with marketing channel leaders to implement strategic, fundraising-related visibility enhancements that both engage and perform.Spots departmental needs and take initiative to create new processes that enhance the way we work, as well as the work itself.Leverages a proactive, detail-oriented mindset to gather information, integrate feedback, and keep work moving from first draft to final approval.Solicits bids, qualifies, and over-sees production partners including printers. If necessary, directs the creative of outside production partners to be on-brand, conceptually interesting, and executed at the highest levels.Serves as an ambassador for the National Office of Development, establishing relationships that further fundraising initiatives for Scouting.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.CompetenciesKnowledge of: Design theory, composition, color theory, typography, and layout principles. Adobe Create Suite; Proficient in using industry-standard software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro, WordPress etc. Basic writing ability for headlines, email subject lines, and short copy needs.Skill in: Creating visually appealing and technically accurate visuals for various media formats (print, digital, web); page layout and construction tools for print and digital publications; working with PDFs, including adding features like form fields, links, and interactive elements; high-resolution scanning, color correction, and image manipulation; organization for managing design files, naming conventions, and archiving; working effectively with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement design projects; identifying and addressing design challenges creatively and efficiently.Ability to: Prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively within a team environment; ensure visuals are accurate, consistent, and adhere to brand guidelines; meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously; juggle different tasks and priorities effectively; take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision; stay updated on new design trends, software advancements and champion innovations in philanthropic engagement; adjust to changing demands and project requirements; provide excellent service to internal and external clients.EducationBachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, media studies, fine arts, graphic design or a related field from an accredited college or university.Qualifications4+ years of experience as a brand/agency/marketing designer—ideally having spent time in-house and on the brand side.Must pass a criminal history background check.Any work-related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above Minimum Qualifications is an acceptable substitute for the above-specified education and experience requirements.PreferenceFamiliarity with Scouting program and language.Knowledge of web design and development principles.Experience with multimedia and video production.BenefitsScouting America is an equal-opportunity employer.
