Your mission is to assess whether a new material concept meets the strict requirements of our products. This work is interdisciplinary, positioned at the intersection of materials science, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering.Research topicsTo evaluate a new material concept used in metallic parts of low-voltage cabinets GoalsAssess if the new material concept is technically feasible for the intended applicationApproachThe scope will be tailored to your background to meet the requirements of a degree project.It May IncludeEvaluating the thermal, mechanical, and electrical properties of new material concepts using experimental and/or numerical methodsActively propose further improvements in materials and/or designAssessing the impact on sustainability and total cost of ownershipYour backgroundYou have a background in materials science, physics, solid mechanics, or electrical engineeringYou are passionate about electrification and sustainability, and you’re eager to learn beyond your current field of studyMore About UsABB is a global technology leader in electrification and automation.
