Job Title: Material CoordinatorDepartment: Supply Chain / OperationsReports To: Materials Operations Supervisor Location: Cold Lake, ABPosition Summary:The Material Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the planning, procurement, receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, tools, and equipment required to support ongoing operations, maintenance, and project activities. This role ensures that materials are available on time, in the correct quantities, and meet quality standards, while maintaining compliance with company procedures, safety regulations, and project schedules.Key Responsibilities:Material Management:Coordinate the movement, storage, and tracking of materials and equipment between warehouses, job sites, and vendors.Monitor material inventory levels and forecast requirements based on project and maintenance schedules.Verify materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and quality standards upon receipt.Logistics & Coordination:Liaise with procurement, warehouse, logistics, and project teams to ensure timely delivery and issuance of materials.Schedule and oversee inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring compliance with transportation and safety regulations.Maintain accurate documentation for material transfers, receipts, and returns.Inventory Control:Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with full inventory reconciliations.Identify and report discrepancies, damaged goods, or obsolete inventory.Optimize warehouse layout, storage systems, and material handling procedures.Safety & Compliance:Ensure material handling and storage activities comply with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards.Participate in toolbox talks and contribute to a strong safety culture.System & Data Management:Update and maintain data in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards).Generate reports on material status, usage, and key performance indicators (KPIs).Qualifications:Education:Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Experience:5+ years of material coordination, warehousing, or logistics experience, preferably within oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial projects.Experience working in large-scale, multi-site environments (construction, drilling, or production) is an asset.Skills & Competencies:Strong knowledge of material management processes and documentation.Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams under tight deadlines.Forklift certification or experience with heavy material handling equipment is an asset.
