Material Engineer – Joinery & Interior Fit-Out

About the RoleBD Holding is looking for a Material Engineer with expertise in joinery, furniture, and fit-out materials to join our Riyadh team. The role focuses on ensuring that the right materials are sourced, tested, and applied across high-end interior projects, balancing quality, sustainability, and cost-efficiency. You will collaborate with procurement, R&D, and production teams to maintain the highest standards in material selection and usage.Key ResponsibilitiesEvaluate, test, and approve materials for joinery, furniture, and fit-out applications.Ensure all materials meet project specifications, client requirements, and international quality standards.Provide technical expertise to support procurement in supplier selection and cost optimization.Collaborate with design, production, and R&D teams to identify innovative and sustainable material solutions.Maintain an updated library of materials, finishes, and supplier data.Support the preparation of material submittals and technical documentation for client approval.Conduct site and factory inspections to ensure correct material implementation.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.2–4 years of experience in materials engineering within joinery, furniture, or interior fit-out projects.Strong knowledge of wood, veneers, laminates, metals, glass, stone, and finishing materials.Familiarity with sustainability practices and innovative material technologies.Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD or other design software is a plus.Excellent communication and reporting skills.Fluent in English (Arabic is an advantage).Based in Riyadh or open to relocation.Why Join Us?Work with a leading regional furniture and interior design group that values innovation, quality, and sustainability.Gain exposure to prestigious residential, commercial, and retail projects across the GCC.Be part of a cross-functional team driving material innovation and sustainable design practices.
