Our operations are supported by a team of skilled engineers, technicians, and industry professionals who are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of craftsmanship and innovation.Position Summary:The Material Handler will maintain designated functions within the Production and/or Machine Shop team. Tasks include receiving shipments, processing inter-branch transfers, cycle counting, order picking, kitting, shipping, customs documentation, and other duties or assignments as delegated.Key Responsibilities:Safely meeting De Havilland Canada company policies, procedures, and customer quality requirements relating to all Stores functionsAdhering to all regulatory and governing guidelines & manuals for handling, processing, and shipping materialsResponsible for the efficient operation of any specific stores section, including tool crib, as well as shipping and receivingAssisting with the setup of periodic checking of physical inventoryRequired to pack, ship, and receive all materials pertaining to the company and maintain all required records of material movements – this includes the issuing and raising of company packing slips, and maintaining records of all serialized components being shipped or receivedResponsible for maintaining all the required records for international shipments including customs documentationResponsible for the delivery, receipt and security of materialsPicking & issuing materials to corresponding ordersVerifying ordersSafely operate a stand-up reach truck and/or counterbalance forklift.Safely handle manual pallet jack, carts, ladders, stair ladders, and other equipment within the warehouse (MHE).Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.Complete any other duties or assignments as delegated by lead hand and/or manager.Qualifications:Please note this is a unionized position; below are the qualifications and competencies required for this role and corresponds with wages outlined in the Collective Bargaining AgreementHigh school diploma2–5 years of experience in international shipping is considered an asset2+ years’ experience shipping dangerous goods is considered an assetForklift/reach truck certification is considered an assetExperienced in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) & ERP systems.At De Havilland Aircraft of Canada (DHC), we are committed to protecting our people, customers, shareholders and the public through Health & Safety Excellence.
