Are you a current university or tertiary student looking for meaningful paid work next year? Do you want to support and empower rangatahi in underserved communities through mentoring and tutoring? Do you want to be part of a youth-led, youth-centered initiative? Become a MATES Mentor! Over the next four months, we will be recruiting around 80 university student mentors to join us in 2026, supporting over 200 Year 8 and Year 13 students across 14 schools in Tāmaki Makaurau.Did you know MATES (Mentoring and Tutoring Education Scheme) is the only programme in Aotearoa that: ✨ Combines both mentoring and tutoring during key educational transition points in a young lersona life 💰 Pays our mentors for their time and commitment 🚌 Provides free transport fornour mentor teams to the MATES sessions to ensure accessibility for allIf you or someone you know would make a great mentor/tutor, we would love to hear from you!
